WHAT TO EXPECT

A coffee origin experience designed specifically for all coffee lovers

LA PALMA & EL TUCAN COFFEE ADVENTURES is a coffee experience straight at the source, at origin, designed specifically for all coffee lovers to bridge the gap between them and what lies behind their everyday cup of coffee.

Located only 90 minutes away from Bogota, the capital city, this region is blessed with exuberant nature that offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of a big city.

LA PALMA & EL TUCAN COFFEE ADVENTURES is not just a farm tour. We have designed the experience to be highly active, engaging and educational at every turn, be it at the greenhouse, picking coffee, in the laboratory or at the mill.

Our goal is to bring our visitors all the way in so that they can leave having taken away something real.

Some activities offered will be seasonally dependent. A visit in-season will afford more hands-on opportunities, while out-of-season will afford more cultural/community opportunities. It is our hope that in this way each experience will be unique, and none more desirable than the other.

Yes. LA PALMA & EL TUCAN COFFEE ADVENTURES is also a perfect place to enjoy the luxury of the countryside, for those nature and adventure tourists. Located only 1.5 hours away from Bogota, the capital city, this region is blessed with exuberant nature which offers the perfect esc ape from the hustle and bustle of a big city.

The farm is located 1.5 hours away from Bogota, the capital city. The nearest town is called Zipacon (20 minutes away from the farm), in the municipality of Zipacon.

The best place to fly into is Bogotá D.C., El Dorado airport.

The main harvest in our region goes from mid-April to mid-August. During this time, you’ll be able to experience all of the beautiful “chaos” that the harvest entails. On the contrary, out-of-season will allow for a different, more intimate and personal experience.

We have built 9 beautiful new cabins amongst the coffee plantation where you will be able to stay.

We have trusted drivers that we will gladly arrange to bring you to the farm. Depending on the number of people we will send you a quotation of the trip to and from Bogota.

The weather can change very quickly in the mountains. We suggest coming prepared for both warm and cold weather, including rain. Comfortable hiking shoes to walk around the farm and to get muddy, windbreaker jacket and sweater in case the weather gets cooler. Sunscreen, cap or hat and mosquito repellent are also very useful.

Yes! The kitchen and dining area is located at the open social area called “The Terrace”. We serve local, freshly harvested and organic dishes made with produce that we source from local producers and our own vegetable garden. At night, when it gets a little chilly, our guests can dine at our downstairs enclosed social area, “The Lounge” where there are dining tables, couch areas, fireplaces and a full cocktail bar.

The rate for children is half the value of an adult, and includes meals. If they are children under 6 years, there will be no additional cost.
